We’re Steve & Victoria and, in many ways, we’re just like you--we love to cook, bake, and eat! We started Hudson Essentials out of a need for better kitchen tools and essentials than the ones we were finding. We design products that we would like to use ourselves. If we sell it, we use it in our own home and kitchen.

We were tired of poorly designed, plastic products in our kitchen that under-performed and always broke or wore out. Rather than waiting for someone else to come along and solve our problem, we decided to do it ourselves.

Our goal was simple; we would design and manufacture safe, functional products that would be made to last a lifetime. We knew from the start we didn’t want to use plastic. Plastic degrades over time, leeches’ chemicals into your food, retains odors, harbors bacteria, and is even hazardous to the environment.

Although the solution seemed simple, we initially stumped on how to accomplish it. Initially, we were not sure what material to use to create the perfect set of measuring cups. Our inspiration came from the most basic and timeless kitchen tools, the stainless-steel knife, spoon, and fork. Well-designed stainless flatware is functional, high quality, food-safe, stacks saving space, and lasts virtually forever. 

Why can’t everything thing in our kitchen be as food safe, functional, and durable as our stainless-steel flatware? With that essential idea in mind, we went to work on designing and creating our perfect kitchen tools.

We initially decided to start by designing and producing our measuring cup set. From the overwhelmingly positive feedback and customer reviews we received, we knew we got it right. We continued by creating measuring spoons and tumblers that we not only feel proud to sell but to use in our own daily lives. We only make the best, and if we sell it, we use it in our own homes.
